The impact of AI on financial and payment systems: Efficiency, security, and innovation

Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way financial and payment systems work, bringing improvements in efficiency, security, and innovation. This research looks at how AI is helping financial institutions speed up processes, make payments more accurate, and reduce costs. By automating tasks and using smart technology, AI is making financial systems run more smoothly and efficiently. In terms of security, AI is playing a key role in detecting fraud, identifying suspicious activities, and managing risks. AI tools can analyze large amounts of data in real-time to protect financial systems from cyber threats. AI-based innovations, like biometric authentication and advanced fraud detection, are making digital payments safer.
AI is also driving new innovations in financial services, such as personalized banking experiences, automated payments, and faster decision-making. These developments are improving the way customers interact with financial institutions and giving companies a competitive edge. This study is based on case studies from leading financial institutions and a review of existing research. It shows that AI is already making a big difference in efficiency, security, and innovation in financial and payment systems. However, there are challenges like data privacy, ethical concerns, and the need for better regulations that must be addressed to ensure AI is used responsibly. In conclusion, while AI offers many benefits for financial and payment systems, these advantages come with challenges that need careful management to ensure AI is implemented safely and effectively.
